Sam Wilson takes on Thunderbolt Ross in Captain America 4

The producer of Captain America: New World Order, Nate Moore, has dropped hints about a future showdown between Sam Wilson and Thunderbolt Ross. After the conclusion of the fourth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which will take place on November 11 with the release of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Marvel will continue to develop its Multiverse Saga. Anthony Mackie, in his first project of this length as the new Captain America, will appear in the upcoming film Captain America: New World Order, which is one of the most anticipated films that will be released. Filming for the fourth installment of the Captain America franchise is slated to get under way in the spring of 2023, while the movie itself is set to hit theaters on May 3, 2024.

After the events of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Captain America: New World Order will begin up where it left off and follow Sam Wilson as he adapts to his new duty as Captain America. It was reported that Danny Ramirez and Carl Lumbly will be reprising their roles from the limited series as Joaquin Torres and Isaiah Bradley, respectively, in the feature while work on the movie is still in the pre-production phase. They will be joined by Tim Blake Nelson, who will portray the Leader, Shira Haas, who will play Sabra, and Harrison Ford, who will replace William Hurt as General “Thunderbolt” Ross. Shira Haas will play Sabra. Moore provides one of the first looks of his involvement in Captain America: New World Order. The addition of Ford to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is wonderful for the series, and now Moore delivers one of the first glimpses of Ford’s role.

It would seem that Thunderbolt Ross is going to be the source of some difficulty for the new Captain America. Moore dropped hints about a potential clash between the general and Sam Wilson in a recent interview with Collider. He did so while reminding everyone that Ross had thrown Sam in jail at the conclusion of Captain America: Civil War. Check out the whole quote from Moore down below:

“The one and only Sam Wilson, aka Captain America, is going to show up to the game with his very own squad. It is not a secret that Samuel Sterns will be making his comeback to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is wonderful news since Tim Blake Nelson is the most talented actor in the industry. Harrison Ford is taking on the role of General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, and to see Sam Wilson and Thunderbolt Ross, who if you recall really put him in jail at the conclusion of Civil War because he broke the Sokovia Accords. There’s going to be some natural sparks there, which I think are going to be incredibly entertaining.”

How Thunderbolt Ross affects the plot of Captain America 4

Fans who have been following the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Marvel Comics for a long time won’t be shocked when Ross and Sam get into a fight in the upcoming Captain America movie. The villainous general made his debut appearance in the film The Incredible Hulk in 2008, and he was last seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe at the opening of the film Black Widow in 2021, pursuing Natasha Romanoff. In the comics, Ross transforms into the Red Hulk so that he can compete with the Hulk on an equal footing in terms of strength and intelligence. It is because Nelson’s the Leader, who has expertise dealing with gamma radiation, was previously identified as the enemy in Captain America: New World Order that the addition of Ross in the film makes for such a fascinating plot point. This may indicate that the next film Captain America: New World Order will include the backstory of Red Hulk, and that the hero, Captain America, would have to battle not one but two antagonists.

Of course, Marvel has not as of yet provided any official confirmation on the Red Hulk. It is probable that the battle between Sam and Thunderbolt Ross in Captain America: New World Order is still connected to the general’s efforts in Civil War, and that Sam will once again have to face the challenges of being an unofficial superhero. However, it is anticipated that Ford will play the role again in Thunderbolts, which indicates that the appearance of Red Hulk is very near. As the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Multiverse Saga continues, Marvel fans will need to be on the lookout for further info.
