Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort to Reopen Summer 2021

Disney recently announced that Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will remain closed until summer 2021. This extended closure will allow Disney to complete some refurbishment work at the resort hotel, including enhancements to the Great Ceremonial House and guest rooms. Work is expected to begin in early October. The Villas and Bungalows at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will remain open during this refurbishment.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, a Walt Disney World spokeswoman has confirmed that some of the enhancements coming to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort include a Pacific Ocean-inspired color palette, as well as, patterns and textures from Disney’s ‘Moana.’

Disney will be contacting guests affected by the extended closure of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort at least four weeks before their arrival. Disney will be working with guests to modify their reservations to other Disney Resort hotels.
